Material Limits That Differ From PE and BOPP

Compostable films include PLA, PBAT blends, and paper-laminate structures with lower heat resistance and narrower tension windows than conventional olefins. Excessive dryer temperature causes shrink, curl, and certification-relevant property loss—not merely cosmetic defects. Ink and varnish must align with compostability claims; unauthorized additives can void supplier certificates. Treat each grade as a new substrate class with its own job recipe.
